Green Bay’s latest win was not just another entry in the standings. It was another game in which the Packers controlled the terms: they converted key third downs, forced mistakes, and left Dallas chasing the game from the start.

The Packers beat the Cowboys 23-13 on Sunday night, their third straight victory and a move to 4-2. The Cowboys, meanwhile, dropped their second straight and fell to 2-4.

The most revealing number from the night came early. Green Bay converted nine of its first 10 third downs, a stretch that kept drives alive and repeatedly put Dallas back on its heels. The Packers also jumped out to an early lead, and the Cowboys never really threatened.

That combination has become the clearest sign of Green Bay’s current run. The Packers are now among the league’s longest winning streaks, trailing only the three undefeated teams. The results have revived their hopes, but the way they are getting there matters just as much as the record.

Dallas, by contrast, keeps running into the same problems. The Cowboys have now allowed at least 20 points in a franchise-record 13 straight games, and this one brought more frustration in the same places: third down, in the red area, and when the ball was in Dak Prescott’s hands in Packers territory. Prescott was intercepted twice there, turning promising possessions into empty ones.

The Cowboys did at least produce a few small signs of resistance. They recorded their first interception of the season, and they had their first three-sack game of the year. But those moments did not change the shape of the night, or the larger pattern around the team.

Matthew Golden was the most productive Packers receiver, finishing with six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. His production fit the broader story of Green Bay’s offense: efficient on key downs, steady enough to keep control, and sharp enough to turn opportunities into points.

The schedule now sends both teams back into the kind of game that can quickly sharpen a season’s direction. The Packers go to Detroit to face the Lions on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET. The Cowboys, still 2-4, head on the road again to meet the also 2-4 Eagles on Monday night, Oct. 26 at 8:15 p.m.

For Green Bay, the streak is real. For Dallas, so are the problems.
